After almost a year of being completely closed off, part of the Gallows Corner junction is finally set to reopen! If you're driving east on the A12 toward Romford or the A127, mark your calendars for this Sunday—things are about to get a lot easier.

What: The eastbound flyover is reopening to general traffic, along with Straight Road and Main Road.
Where: Gallows Corner junction, A12/A127, Romford—this is the main route for drivers coming from Ilford.
When: Sunday, May 10, in the morning (pending final safety checks).
Who’s affected: Anyone heading east on the A12 from Ilford toward Romford, Harold Hill, or the A127.
Just a heads up: The westbound flyover will still be closed, and the A12 southbound will remain bus-only while Essex & Suffolk Water wraps up repairs on a leak discovered during the final testing of the new water main. The good news is that all major construction on the flyover itself is complete.
What does this mean for you? Your journey eastbound on the A12 toward Romford will be much smoother starting Sunday, but if you're heading back west, be prepared for some ongoing disruptions.
Best action to take: If you regularly drive east on the A12, plan to take your first trip via the flyover on Sunday morning. Just steer clear of the westbound flyover and the A12 southbound for now—diversions are still in effect.
